A resource centre that will keep growing
Here we gather the materials we use in the Amazon Guardian Schools Network to bring students closer to Indigenous peoples, to the Amazon and to caring for the land. We also want it to be a place of educational exchange: we will add materials created by schools in the Amazon and by schools in Catalonia and Europe, so that knowledge travels in both directions.

Catalogue of workshops for the classroom
The activities we bring to schools: “The colourful caterpillar” for years 3 and 4 of primary school, interculturality and stereotypes for upper primary, and Amazon, technology and global citizenship for lower secondary.

Bilingual illustrated storybook
«Els Puyanawa i l’Eruga de colors – Hêda Cêkaya»
A storybook in Catalan and in the Puyanawa language, written by Alex Gimeno Martínez and illustrated by Sonia Coloma Benítez. It is part of the teaching materials of the Amazon Guardian Schools Network.
Through Vari and the Puyanawa people, it introduces students to the worldview of the Indigenous peoples of the Amazon: living in harmony with nature.

Environmental workshops: climate and waste
The two slide decks — “Climate change” and “Waste” — prepared for the sustainability workshops with the pupils of the Escola Ixubãy Rabuī Puyanawa (Acre, Brazil), in the 2025 pilot project. They are in Portuguese.

Music
Album “Dimãnã ewe yûbabu”
The first album by the Puyanawa people: a double album with traditional ceremonial chants and songs composed by Puwe and Vari, to recover and share their musical tradition. The chants and dances are also used in the workshops.

Photography exhibition
«Poble Puyanawa»
Portraits and panels telling the story of the Puyanawa people: the forest, slavery on the rubber estates and the recovery of their language, their dances and their identity. It can be visited online and requested for libraries, community centres and schools.

Card game
Rol Guardians: visible and invisible characteristics
A card game for the classroom: each card shows a person with a situation or a characteristic —some visible at a glance, others not— and the group has to place them, talk about them and realise how quickly we judge by what we see. It is the core activity of the interculturality workshop «Cultura, qui ets? i els Guardians de l’Amazònia».
Area for teachers and professionals
Access with username and password
We are preparing a space reserved for teachers and education teams of the schools linked to the Network, with the materials that need permission, context or guidance to be used well in the classroom:
- Complete learning units, with a sequence of sessions, rubrics and assessment criteria.
- Development of the classroom project, by term and by year: planning, sequence across terms and milestones for the school year.
- Workshop slides and scripts, ready for the classroom.
- Audio recordings and forest sounds, and Puyanawa chants used in the activities.
- Materials created by Indigenous teachers in the Amazon and by Catalan and European schools.
- Projects already carried out in participating schools, with what worked well and what they would change, so you can adapt them to your school.
- Guides for preparing the intercultural video calls between schools.
- Documentary archive: articles, interviews, talks and lectures, and academic studies by anthropologists, biologists, activists and environmentalists, Indigenous and non-Indigenous.
- A bank of images and videos with permission to use them and context for each item.

Activities for schools
The schools in the Network follow a pathway to become guardians of the Amazon, and these materials are used along the way:
